With the sweetest of sounds coming from the speakers of the Ticket Arena office it would be mighty selfish of us to keep them to ourselves, so we thought we’d let you in on what our staff use to soundtrack a hard day’s work. Now a weekly feature with the intent of bringing your attention to wonderful new sounds every Tuesday, our Album Of The Week looks at releases from the best in the game, whether fresh new acts about to hit the big time or established artists reminding the world of their continued talent. Simply put, it’s just the best in music that we think you should hear.
Following teases of steady single releases and more than electric live performances serving his unique brand of indie, Tom Grennan’s debut album was long awaited, and it’s true what they say in that good things come to those who wait. Grennan growls through twelve tracks that hit topics including love, loss, loneliness, sobriety and more, yet there’s still fun to be had as leading single and album opener ‘Found What I’ve Been Looking For’ as well as ‘Royal Highness’ contain riffs so catchy with choral hooks perfect for a festival crowd and riffs worthy of filling dancefloors, contrasting to the bursts of jazz elements and his distinct, gritty vocals.
Tom Grennan will be performing at this year’s Leeds Festival on Sunday 26th August alongside headliner Kendrick Lamar and the likes of Panic! At The Disco, Pendulum, Kate Nash, Papa Roach and more.
