On paper, Treeboy & Arc are just four lads local to Leeds making some post-punk sounds, the thing is, they’re actually very good at it. Releasing their EP Not Yet in December, the outfit have managed to encapsulate their gritty noise solely in the four tracks that make it up. Featuring ‘White’, the first single the band ever wrote together, a rush of fierce riffs, high speed drums to match and venomous vocals are proof that Treeboy & Arc have perfected their polished post punk sound. Emulating and echoing other local heroes such as Eagulls, but still putting on their own high octane yet haunting spin, the quartet are putting Leeds on the map for the best in up and coming noise. They’re also still keeping it local, as the EP was recorded by Suburban Home, a studio situated in the Yorkshire city and run by yet another Leeds musician, MJ of Hookworms.
Treeboy & Arc will perform at Leeds’ Indie Banquet VII on Saturday 17th February at Wharf Chambers alongside Vulgarians, Hotel Lux, Meltdunes and Hamer.
