Finsbury Park, a popular setting in north London, will be transformed on Saturday 23rd September as Hospital Records present their spectacular celebration of all things drum and bass in the form of Hospitality in the Park. The label has long been responsible for showcasing the genre around the world but last year decided a festival, that brings every style of DnB - from liquid to jungle to dark - a little closer to home was a good idea.
A location like Finsbury Park, with the vast expanse of tranquil green space allows festival-goers to swap the chaotic surroundings of the capital for a DnB utopia. In their quest to achieve a stunning representation of every style, Hospital have assembled a magnificent line up, featuring the likes of Danny Byrd, My Nu Leng, Randall, DJ Guv and Etherwood.
Various stages, all of which will promise premium production and design, includes the Let It Roll arena, which will cater for lovers of the heavier sounds, including Black Sun Empire, Calyx & Teebee and The Upbeats amongst others. If liquid is more to your taste then be sure to head over to the Med School stage where LSB, Technimatic and DRS alongside many more will be sharing their musical talents.
Ones to watch: Fred V & Grafix
The Devon duo have long been regarded as one of the jewels in the crown that is the Hospital Records stable. They have long strived to make music which encompasses various different styles and their DJ sets, which are always beautifully crafted concoctions, make for a fine demonstration of that. This time the pair are planning to provide an experience of epic dynamism as they enter into the world of live shows just in time for the release of their third album, Cinematic Party Music. If you leave Hospitality in the Park without witnessing this special moment it would be criminal.
Ones to watch: St:Files B2B Calibre (Marcus Intalex Tribute set)
If you are wondering where the most emotionally-charged place will be during the festival make sure you pay a visit to the Med School arena for a special commemorative set in homage of the late Marcus Intalex. The pioneering act formed part of a colossal triage, alongside St Files and Calibre, providing outstanding performances which perfectly epitomized the deep and soulful sounds that each producer was renowned for. The chance to see just one of the trio is a treat to behold so the very fact there will be two playing in a unique B2B set is a must see event.
