Hospitality are once again whisking away some of the finest names in drum & bass to the stunning coastal town Tisno, situated in southern Croatia. After a fantastic debut edition, the festival’s reputation soared. Now the pressure is on to host another magical party, maintaining the sweet intimacy that comes with the first year of a festival whilst welcoming the widely expected bigger fan base with open arms.
One of the main reasons why this festival needs to be on your itinerary if you idolize bass music is the sense of community. Walking around the site and having a chat over a beer with genre heavyweights like Kings of the Rollers before seeing them obliterate a boat party is just a normal day at the Garden Resort.
With Hospitality on the Beach you are also guaranteed one of the most vibrant and stunning retreats from reality with world-class DJs spinning records from early afternoon right through until sunrise the next day.
Ones to watch: Friction
When you watch this man on the decks he always gives a turntable master class, spinning records in such a mind-boggling manner it appears as if he is from another dimension.
The Brighton-born artist is also the owner of the mighty Shogun Audio, which consistently puts out the freshest releases. This year the imprint is celebrating a special milestone, marking 15 years since the label was first conceived. Being presented with the opportunity to share a journey through such an illustrious back catalogue, headed by one of the finest taste makers in all the land is too good to miss.
Ones to watch: DJ Zinc
This artist has garnered overwhelming respect for his ability to make tantalizing music across a variety of genres. This skill of consistently crafting iconic tracks within different musical worlds is a key factor as to why everyone flocks to see him play a DJ set.
His appearance in Croatia won’t be like a usual Zinc set. The Londoner is top of the bill on the Gimme Five stage, mesmerizing ravers for a gargantuan five hours and dealing solely in records which strike a chord with every single d&b fan. If you want to reminisce over timeless anthems and sample a masterful performance behind the decks at the same time then be sure to catch Zinc in Tisno.
