There’s always something coming out the speakers in the Ticket Arena office, so we thought we’d share some of the sonic splendours that soundtrack all of our hard work. Now a weekly feature that brings a different artist to the fore each Thursday, the TA Mix Of The Week scours the vaults for some of our favourite sets of old and keeps a beady eye out for the classics of the future, serving up a taste of the artists that make us happy to do what we do.
Few producers sounds stand out in same way as Daniel Avery’s do. The Londoner possesses an idiosyncratic style that continues to push the boundaries of genres and styles. Often including hypnotic beats and swirling psychedelic sounds, his artistry in music making is paramount. His mixes are no exception, as in his monthly residency for NTA Radio, he clearly displays. Mixing his own recognisable tracks in with the likes of Abul Mogard, Laurel Halo, Biogen, Marcel Fengler and more, an abstract and atmospheric hour of stripped back electronica.
Daniel Avery plays an all night set alongside Four Tet at Liverpool’s Invisible Wind Factory on Friday 5th October. He also takes on an all night long set courtesy of Krankbrother at a yet to be announced venue on Saturday 24th November.
On Saturday 20th October, Daniel Avery curates and takes part in a Warehouse Project special, as he invites Marcel Dettmann, Daphni, Avalon Emerson and more to their Store Street venue.
