There’s always something coming out the speakers in the Ticket Arena office, so we thought we’d share some of the sonic splendours that soundtrack all of our hard work. Now a weekly feature that brings a different artist to the fore each Thursday, the TA Mix Of The Week scours the vaults for some of our favourite sets of old and keeps a beady eye out for the classics of the future, serving up a taste of the artists that make us happy to do what we do.
Let’s talk about Denis Sulta. This Glaswegian powerhouse has been everywhere lately, and rightfully so as his Sulta Selects reputation is the sole reason for his recent popularity, known to go anywhere from the depths of techno ranging to the best disco house cuts, this guy has dropped Destiny’s Child and even the Loony Tunes theme at international festivals - his eclectic and obscure choices make for some unpredictable sets and perhaps that’s the intrigue gaining him such a loyal following. No different in his renowned versatility is his Essential Mix for BBC, in which he carefully crafted two hours of the new and old, from Daft Punk to Hudson Mohawk and Cevin Fisher to Hammer, of course weaving in his own productions as well as projects from the likes of friend Mall Grab. Listen below via BBC & Mixcloud.
Denis Sulta is headlining the very first edition of Jika Jika Festival in Londonderry on August Bank Holiday Weekend. He then takes his Sulta Selects brand to Liverpool on Saturday 3rd November, In:Motion’s massive 2018 season on Friday 9th November and joins The Warehouse Project on Friday 23rd November.
