There’s always something coming out the speakers in the Ticket Arena office, so we thought we’d share some of the sonic splendours that soundtrack all of our hard work. Now a weekly feature that brings a different artist to the fore each Thursday, the TA Mix Of The Week scours the vaults for some of our favourite sets of old and keeps a beady eye out for the classics of the future, serving up a taste of the artists that make us happy to do what we do.
This week we’ve found our mix of choice on one of our favourite music blogs, the exquisite Truants. One of the most knowledgeable bunches of music experts found anywhere on this here internet, the Truants gang have earned themselves a sterling reputation over the years, and in doing so have attracted some real big hitters to contribute to their Truancy mix series. The latest to join the ranks, Jackmaster has delivered a fittingly experimental mix, reaching to the darker crevices of his collection to pull together percussive workouts and techno snarlers for 80 minutes of dystopian soundscapes. Always maintaining a warlike sense of urgency, this one will drive you through even the toughest day in the office.
As always, you won’t have to look far to find Jackmaster this summer, as he’ll be appearing at a variety of different locations over the next few months. August sees him at Wilderness Festival in Chipping Norton and Sunfall in London, whilst he will be seen at home in Scotland for Electric Fields in September before he takes his place at the very first BPM Festival Portugal Edition from Thursday 14th to Monday 18th September.
