There’s always something coming out the speakers in the Ticket Arena office, so we thought we’d share some of the sonic splendours that soundtrack all of our hard work. Now a weekly feature that brings a different artist to the fore each Thursday, the TA Mix Of The Week scours the vaults for some of our favourite sets of old and keeps a beady eye out for the classics of the future, serving up a taste of the artists that make us happy to do what we do.
The sun is shining, football’s coming home and the UK are set to have one of the best summers in history, so how about some beats to complement perfectly? Jamz Supernova can supply such, as she takes to MixMag’s The Lab in London to deliver an hour of her favoured sounds, making for a pretty perfect soundtrack to the summer. From modern hip hop of Childish Gambino’s latest single ‘This Is America’ (a track frequenting in our favourite mixes lately) and Kanye West, to the likes of noughties tracks such as Sean Paul’s ‘Temperature’ layered with dancehall sizzler ‘Murder She Wrote’. Jamz hits every possible genre in this 60 minute endeavor and somehow manages to get the thumping drum and bass of Chris Lorenzo, and Zed Bias to compliment pulsating house, afrobeat and grime, even the shimmering, disco tinted vocals of Chaka Khan. Jamz Supernova, we thank you for providing a mix as hot as this current weather!
Jamz Supernova will be at this year’s Lovebox Festival, which takes place in London’s Gunnersbury Park on Friday 13th and Saturday 14th July.
