There’s always something coming out the speakers in the Ticket Arena office, so we thought we’d share some of the sonic splendours that soundtrack all of our hard work. Now a weekly feature that brings a different artist to the fore each Thursday, the TA Mix Of The Week scours the vaults for some of our favourite sets of old and keeps a beady eye out for the classics of the future, serving up a taste of the artists that make us happy to do what we do.
What more is left to say about Kerri Chandler? Widely regarded as one of the best house artists of all time, the man from New Jersey is among the finest producers going, with a beautifully clean style which never inhibits his ability to create tracks of unfathomable depth. A magical DJ to boot (or should we say ‘to shoe’?), the man mixes better with his Nikes on his hands than most of the best DJs do without, as documented in some ludicrous videos like this one. Invited to take over Mixmag Live for a full three hours, Chandler looks assured as they come as he unleashes some of the most bumping house you’ll have heard, even adding his own touches with the help of his trusty keyboard. Mix Of The Week? This one would be mix of most weeks.
Mixing this seamless often needs to be seen in the flesh to be believed, so if you’re in Leeds on Sunday 16th April then you might want to head to MiNT Warehouse for the terrace party, which Kerri will be headlining. Also featuring Voyeur, Darius Syrossian and Route 94, it would normally be a difficult task picking a top dog from the Terrace Party lineup, but when Kerri’s in town, there’s only one person competing. Kerri will also appear at the Southport Weekender Festival on Saturday 10th June.
