There’s always something coming out the speakers in the Ticket Arena office, so we thought we’d share some of the sonic splendours that soundtrack all of our hard work. Now a weekly feature that brings a different artist to the fore each Thursday, the TA Mix Of The Week scours the vaults for some of our favourite sets of old and keeps a beady eye out for the classics of the future, serving up a taste of the artists that make us happy to do what we do.
If you consider yourself to have a finger on the pulse of the house and techno scene and Or:La hasn’t yet appeared on your radar, then you’ve still got some work to do. A quality producer with releases on Scuba’s Hotflush to compliment an EP on her own Deep Sea Frequency imprint, Orlagh Dooley is earning herself a reputation as one of the biggest talents around.
Arriving into the game in 2016 and soon after being offered a residency at The Warehouse Project among other high profile gigs, Or:La has made a name for herself by coasting through house, techno, breaks, electro and more in her sets, which go deep each and every time. Landing in Russia to follow up a rabid first encounter with the Boiler Room crowds, the young artist found herself in close quarters with her audience once again, running through weirder and harder sounds to the delight of the locked in attendees. Not for the faint hearted, this set is one for fans of strange encounters on the dancefloor.
Or:La plays at Malta’s Lost & Found Festival in May, Parklife in Manchester on Sunday 10th June and then Croatia’s Hideout at the end of the same month.
