There’s always something coming out the speakers in the Ticket Arena office, so we thought we’d share some of the sonic splendours that soundtrack all of our hard work. Now a weekly feature that brings a different artist to the fore each Thursday, the TA Mix Of The Week scours the vaults for some of our favourite sets of old and keeps a beady eye out for the classics of the future, serving up a taste of the artists that make us happy to do what we do.
Unstoppable is a key word we’d use to describe the recent storm Redlight has been causing with his unparalleled brand of bruising bass, which is likely why Mixmag and WAV invited him in to conduct a mix for The Lab in LA. Brought up amongst the iconic 90s warehouse raves of Bristol, Redlight’s music knowledge reaches incredible depths, ranging from his favoured DnB, jungle and bass all the way to house, techno and more. Having recently unleashed his album ‘Active’ onto the masses, it’s his turn now to showcase what he can pull off live, and what a mix it is. With incredibly precise drops of bass among loops of some unexpected features of some of the most popular of tracks, with Fergie’s famed section of The Black Eyed Peas ‘My Humps’ playing out over some dirty beats, and bits of bass continuously peaking through this hour and a half set. There’s the inclusion of some of his friends with Chris Lorenzo featuring, as well as one of his own album tracks, and this mix could also feature you making some incredible dance moves if you just press play...
Redlight takes on a Sticky Feet party at Canal Mills, Leeds on Friday 15th March, before taking to Hideout Festival in Croatia between Monday 1st and Saturday 6th July as well as El Dorado Festival between Friday 5th and Monday 8th July.
