If there’s one thing we can be sure of about Alexis Raphael, it’s that he knows how to get a dancefloor bouncing. The DJ and producer has worked tirelessly to add life to the London house and techno scene, earning the affections of Hot Creations, Relief and other underground tastemakers along the way. A frequent performer at many of Europe’s biggest clubs, the North Londoner has been carving out exhilarating sets for years, dipping into the eclectic faces of house music for lesser known gems and slinging them together with the chicest techno you can find. Well known to fans of Jamie Jones’ Hot Creations after some sizzling releases, he has proven himself at tech-house’s highest level, and as a good friend of elrow favourite Jacky, he’ll be giving Leeds an insight into his talents as he takes to MiNT Club this month.
Chomping at the bit for a taste of what’s to come, we asked Alexis for five of his top picks for dancefloor destruction.
Ikandi - Alexis Raphael and Green Velvet
Well, I had to put this in there because it's such an honour to do a collaboration with one of the legends of electronic music. Killer breakdown and dirty sounds on the drop….been caning the dance floors.
Throw down - Carmen
This disco infused vocal track is a cool little number for end of the night …loving seeing more disco influenced stuff coming out of Germany. All about good vibes and this nails it.
Chords and dust - Goosman
This funky deep roller is a lovely mid set groover. The right balance between chords (as in the title) and a bassline that grips everyone on the dance floor…kind of thing I play as I’m building to the peak of a set. Love it!
Begynnelsen - Henriksson
Absolutely love this minimal electronica infused piece of music. A complete journey into the mind bending, without being OTT. Wicked stuff.

Saw - Thomas Stiller
A nice groovy deep house number that reminds me of the 90s records I was buying. Been caning this lately. Doesn’t do anything groundbreaking but does what it does well and keeps people moving. Can't find this to stream online but take my word for it!
