Top Picks: AMP All Day Raves
Top Picks: AMP All Day Raves

Annie Mac and her all day raves series will be stopping off in Birmingham, Leeds and London in the coming weeks, her tour bus no doubt struggling with the weight of a stacked lineup for each. Serving up the likes of Groove Armada, TQD, Fatima Yamaha, Kolsch, Novelist and oh so many more, Mac has her heart set on making the AMP nights some of the biggest parties to hit the three cities this autumn. The big names will sell themselves, but we thought you might like to find out about some of the lesser known names invited to perform; with that in mind, here are six picks of artists who’ll make you glad you consulted your reliable friend Ticket Arena before deciding who to watch.

Bonzai
Birmingham - Saturday 24th September
Leeds - Sunday 25th September
London - Saturday 1st October

Velvety vocals can take on body-hammering grit in a moment, making Bonzai’s music a bumpy ride that never stops to let passengers disembark. Treading a similar path to the one scorched by FKA Twigs, the singer has crafted a similarly engrossing blend of bass music and pop-leaning melodies, and is certainly one to watch at each of the three AMP Raves.

Todd Edwards
Birmingham - Saturday 24th September
London - Saturday 1st October

Having laid the groundwork for UK garage with his drifting kicks and swung rhythms, American Todd Edwards has become an influential figure on both sides of the Atlantic. A DJ with a wealth of experience to match years spent mastering his production, Edwards ought to be an enticing prospect in Birmingham and London.

Nadia Rose
Leeds - Sunday 25th September

Lack of female representation is a prominent problem in dance music of all styles, but if artists like Nadia Rose are forced to carry an unfair burden of responsibility as role models for the next generation, the Croydon rapper certainly isn’t letting it affect her. Piles of attitude and bags of talent make her one of grime’s most exciting prospects.

Amy Becker
London - Saturday 1st October

Genre-spanning but with a fondness for bottom-heavier tunes, Amy Becker has been representing UK urban dance music for some time despite still being only in her early 20s. Skipping between garage, grime, bassline, hip-hop and house, the recent graduate is making a name for herself as a forward-thinking and creative DJ as she gets stuck into the London circuits.

Doc Daneeka
Birmingham - Saturday 24th September

There aren’t as many house artists as you might expect across the three parties, but one who has made the cut is Doc Daneeka, a Numbers artist who also runs his own label, Ten Thousand Yen. Euphoric house stompers are a speciality, though he also dips into disco and techno when he sees fit.

Jasper James
Leeds - Sunday 25th September

If you’re looking for a DJ, Jasper James is probably as good a shout as any other across the AMP lineups. The son of Harri of Harri & Domenic, James has earned his place on the list of cracking DJs to come from Glasgow, his selections and lead by example style putting him in a similar ballpark to his housemate and notorious party animal Jackmaster.

The first AMP All Day Rave will take place at Birmingham’s Rainbow Venues on the 24th of September, with Leeds’ Canal Mills and London’s Tobacco Dock not far behind. Get your tickets now to ensure you’re there to check out these six performers and many more.
