Top Picks: Hospitality on the Beach 2019

Hospital Records are venturing to Croatia once more to provide a truly magical showcase of all things drum & bass. When Hospital co-founder London Elektricity closed out last year’s debut event by announcing he wanted to spend the next decade coming back to the picturesque setting of Tisno there was mass hysteria. Even with such an established track record of hosting amazing parties it was mind-blowing to see just how much they stepped up to the plate when tasked with putting on a first overseas festival. Held at the hugely established Garden Resort, ravers will revel in the venue which has for many years provided the backdrop to numerous heavyweights in the festival scene. If that isn’t reason enough to head over to the sunny shores of Croatia for a DnB holiday this July, then we’ve listed some top artists delivering their sounds that are definitely worth catching at this year's Hospitality On The Beach

Everywhere you look on the line up there is an untold amount of musical talent but certain individuals command a whole different kind of respect like Friction. The Shogun Audio boss is one of the most technically gifted behind the turntables and coupled with that has been a tastemaker for the genre on one of the world’s biggest platforms in BBC Radio One. As if that wasn’t enough the Brighton-born artist will be pointing a spotlight on the finest records to pass through Shogun over the past 15 years. With so many premier tracks to choose from it won’t be easy but if anyone can select the best and weave them together to form the most delectable musical concoction it is Friction.

DJ Die

Bristol has long been a haven for drum & bass music with DJ Die acting as a key figurehead before the turn of the millennium. With a back catalogue which includes releases on major imprints like V Recordings there is no doubting the talent of this man in the studio. Make sure to catch his set in Croatia for a trip down memory lane as he will be shining a light on an iconic album The Archives. This record is a celebration of the Bristolian’s works through the years 1995-2000.

Any time this man takes to the decks you can rest assured he will take you on a magical journey through the world of drum & bass. He has stayed at the forefront of the scene for the past 25 years which is testament to his work on the turntables coupled with stellar productions. As if one chance to see him wasn’t amazing enough there will also be a real treat for the after party crew as he steps onto the stage alongside Friction and the Brazilian wizard S.P.Y.

Kasra b2b Enei b2b Halogenix

Stepping into the booth alongside each other are three equally exciting artists as Kasra, Enei and Halogenix go b2b2b on the Korsakov stage. Kasra has been playing all over the world for many years but interestingly only put out his debut EP late last year.  Being recognized first for his DJ skills, the Critical Music head honcho has been a firm favourite, whilst also playing a lead role in cultivating one of the most respected imprints within the scene. Enei has been hugely involved with Critical since 2010 with the Russian quickly causing the label to take note just a couple of years after his first prominent productions. Lastly there is London-based Halogenix, who comes from a classical background. Soon after developing a fondness for DnB he went on to secure major releases on huge labels such as Noisia’s Invisible Recordings, which serves as a strong indicator to the talent this man possesses. Joining forces in Croatia this is one set you know will just deliver jaw-dropping energy and the most original beats.

This trio are arguably one of the most dynamic acts in the entire scene and are certain to have a dramatic impact when they arrive at the Garden Resort. Renowned for stunningly crafted productions, they also turn up with the sole intention of delivering the most abstract DJ sets. With such extensive experience behind the decks and inside the studio it is no surprise they are a real head turner on the line up. If you are coming to Hospitality on the Beach and want a mind-blowing guide through the most seismic sounds the scene has to offer then make a date to see this Dutch group.
