Just Jack Halloween
With a residency at one of the most iconic venues on the planet, Panorama Bar, and two labels Steffi has cultivated an impressive influence in the world of house and techno. A huge fondness of crafting music by making the most of often unfamiliar hardware has allowed the Dutch-born artist to create an intensely vivid catalogue of records. Whenever she takes to the decks be prepared for a fascinating journey, encompassing the finest bass-heavy sounds from house, disco and techno.
Despite emerging from the bass music mecca that is Bristol Julio Bashmore has always had a fondness for house. Drawing inspiration from highly esteemed artists like Daft Punk and Cassius, he found comfort in adopting a similar approach when it came to making records. With similarly noteworthy artists like Claude VonStroke soon clambering to sign his tracks it is clear just how quickly he made an impression.
A blatant refusal to make just one type of music, Zinc has long had an insatiable appetite for a variety of sounds from drum n bass to house. At first it was the heavier sounds of dnb which brought him the most joy, formerly co-owning True Playaz (now Real Playaz) alongside DJ Hype and Pascal. Lately there have been some rather contrasting styles to emerge from the Zinc studio, including a recent collaboration with Chris Lorenzo. Whenever this man is in town be prepared for a supercharged display of multiple genres, promising to send any room into rapture.
Mastering an ability to deliver a futuristic blend of bold electro and minimal techno has rightly seen demand to see this German in action skyrocket. A long-time love affair with Hamburg’s Golden Pudel provided esteemed foundations and a flawless ear for the most uncompromising electronic music. If ever you find yourself off to see Hauff get ready to embrace the dark and grainy sounds whilst soaking up the mechanical feel that is a definitive feature to her sets.
25 Years of RAM Records
25 years ago a young teenager set up his own label with a tiny budget. Today RAM Records is a drum n bass behemoth, constantly collating the finest sounds across the whole spectrum. Naturally Andy C has also become one of the most prolific DJ/producers on the scene, consistently mesmerizing crowds around the world with his fast-mixing style solely focused on vinyl. With a real talent to always identify the freshest sounds in dnb a chance to see this man behind the decks is simply unmissable.
