May is completely spoiling us with a special second bank holiday weekend and after a month of the sunshine and good weather constantly changing its mind about making an appearance, we’re not feeling even the slightest bit guilty about treating ourselves to some great events taking over the last few days of the month. Which should you lend your precious three days to, though? There’s a long list to choose from, with World Island taking a spot in Leeds and bringing headliners Sampha, Loyle Carner and Unknown Mortal Orchestra, as well as clubbing brand Muzik hosting the mighty Green Velvet and in Liverpool, Circus are putting on a techno lover’s dream with Sven Vath, Ben Klock, Robert Hood and more taking to Camp & Furnace for their bank holiday special. Don’t stress, we’ve compiled a list of our top picks to help you out...

World Island
Friday 25th - Sunday 27th May
Globe Road, Leeds

What do you get when you give headline slots to a Mercury Music Prize winner, a nominee and an internationally renowned  pioneer of psychedelic rock? Leeds’ three day celebration of some very special sounds is the answer, as World Island invite Sampha, Loyle Carner and Unknown Mortal Orchestra top head up their outdoor summer festivities. That’s not all, they’ve also thrown in some stellar supports from the likes of Romare, Nightmares On Wax, Jungle, Jordan Rakei, Badbadnotgood and so much more.

Asian Dub Foundation

The English electronica band Asian Dub Foundation have announced the return of their ‘La Haine’ live soundtrack tour, which includes consecutive shows in May at Liverpool’s Invisible Wind Factory and Glasgow-based venue St Luke’s. The live performance will take listeners on a journey by combining music and moving picture off the band’s interpretation of the original soundtrack for a ultimate cinema experience. This previously sold-out show is one to not be missed!
