Mollie Denton | Features & Interviews

One of London’s leading festivals is back this August Bank Holiday, with a lineup packed of artists and DJs from a variety of genres, from bass to house and from disco to DnB. Spread across ten stages over the course of the weekend, this year promises to be bigger and better than ever before. Calling for attendees old and new to experience what could be their best year yet at Clapham Common. A small handful of the names featured on the line up include Martin Garrix, Pendulum Trinity and Chase & Status - but we have picked out some of the scheduled DJs and artists who stand out the most to us, that you shouldn’t miss at the 2019 edition.

Armand Van Helden

Regarded as one of the top names within dance music, after recording club hits alongside the likes of Roger Sanchez and Masters at Work - Armand Van Helden has become one of the most popular producers around since the 90s and his work is forever praised by dance DJs today. With memorable hits such as ‘You Don’t Know Me’ and ‘I Want Your Soul’, South West Four are in for a throwback treat as Armand Van Helden takes it back to the 90s with those dance floor hits.

Barely Legal

One of the hardest working rising stars within the UK dance scene, Barely Legal is a DJ that receives serious praise due to her unrelenting style. Her sets are jam packed with sounds coming from varying genres, with a particular focus on grime, UK garage and deep house that are mixed together at extreme speed. Featured on the likes of Rinse FM and BBC Radio 1Xtra, Barely Legal is definitely one to keep an eye out for at South West Four.

Sammy Virji

Sammy Virji has made a firm imprint into the bass industry in recent years, with his distinctively creative sound. Receiving support from the likes of Holy Goof, TQD, TS7 and many more, Virji has landed himself regular DJ sets at renowned clubs across the UK including Printworks in London, as well as a residency at World Headquarters in Newcastle. With his tracks receiving up to hundreds of thousands of views on YouTube, Sammy Virji shall be providing strictly bangers only at South West Four this year.

Redlight b2b DJ Zinc

Brought up around 90’s warehouse rave culture in Bristol, Redlight is a British DJ and dance music producer, with his tracks gaining success for over a decade. Well known tracks include ‘90s Baby’ and ‘Get Out My Head’, that have continued to pop up within bass house sets. Known for consistently redefining his sound and jumping effortlessly between musical genres, DJ Zinc pairs up with Redlight for a special b2b, providing South West Four with only the best bass house sounds, and maybe some surprises in between.

Also known as the Godfather of grime, producer and MC Wiley is arguably the key player within the UK grime scene. His dominance began with certain tracks including the bouncy ‘Wearing My Rolex’ back in 2008, then moving on to collaborations with globally renowned producer Mark Ronson, as well as continuing to release banging grime tracks in recent years. Witness the Godfather of grime at South West Four and you shall not be disappointed.
