There is arguably a certain lack of open-air festivals for fans of house music in the Scottish capital today, in fact there isn’t one. FLY Open Air however will be changing all that on Saturday 24th September with a one-day event at the foot of the city’s most prestigious landmark, Edinburgh Castle. Taking place from midday until 10pm, FLY Open Air will bring together some of the most sought after names in house and techno at The Princes Street Gardens.
Although only the first wave of the line up has been announced, there is already a hefty amount of talent on the bill, most notably the live techno bonanza of Mr.G. Colin McBean has been thumping out analogue heaviness since 1990, with his live show being one of the best there is to see today.
Another widely respected man in the form of Motor City Drum Ensemble will join Mr.G, this time a guy who’s reputation in the world of house and disco is forever soaring high. Known for his vinyl mixing and insatiable beats, he will keep your foot tapping until the end, at the very least.
Also joining the line up is Detroit Swindle, not to mention Theo Kottis, with these four forming only the first phase of this to-be-huge line up. Watch this space for the next announcement, which will be coming soon, including news of the very special guest headliner.
