French producer Fabrice Franck Henri aka Guts will be playing a few live shows in the UK at the end of June, with the fantastic Leron Thomas lending a hand as he plays live in XOYO in London on the 27th before Guts heads to Leeds’ HiFi Club on the 28th. With other appearances on the horizon including a set at Outlook Festival, the beats whizz and melody wizard will be enjoying a fruitful summer across a wide range of venues.
Many DJs and musicians start early, but French producer Guts was an early bloomer by any standards, having started his music collection aged just 9. Armed with a record collection built over decades, the hip-hop beatmaker draws on inspirations from soul, hip-hop, jazz and funk, and makes music that could fit into any one of those categories and probably a healthy few more. A skilled producer who has worked with the likes of Patrice, Lorine Chia, Tanya Morgan, Murs and Grand Puba among others, Guts will demonstrate the talents that make his music such an exciting blend of spacey jazz sounds and soulful funk.
Carrying a recognisable sound that fuses emblems of his French heritage with sounds pulled together from all sorts of different locations, Guts’ name on a bill is an assurance of that all too important feel-good factor, and when paired with the stunning talents of jazz trumpeter and vocalist Leron Thomas, his live performance looks certain to be a highlight in the gig-goer’s diary.
