The full lineup has been unveiled for Brighton’s Party At The Races, with a DJ set from Basement Jaxx top of the bill and a variety of top acts from the world of electronic dance music in support. Taking place on Saturday 1st October from 1pm until 3am, the brand new party at Brighton Racecourse will see a carnival come to town with 3 stages of artists, virtual horse racing screens and plenty of dressing up.
Basement Jaxx probably need little introduction, but we’ll give one anyway. Chart-toppers on both sides of the atlantic, the duo are one of the UK’s biggest dance music exports, having risen to star status in the late 90s and early noughties thanks to hits like “Rendez-Vu”, “Where’s Your Head At” and “Romeo”. Early proponents of the big beat sound that came out of London in the mid nineties, Basement Jaxx stand alongside The Prodigy, The Chemical Brothers, Fatboy Slim and Groove Armada, and will no doubt be warmly received as they take to the booth at Brighton’s newest party location.
Less established but by no means an unknown, Jonas Blue is next up on the bill, and has enjoyed a steady climb into the warmth of the public spotlight thanks to his duo of number 2 singles “Fast Car” and “Perfect Strangers”. The former, a house cover of Tracy Chapman’s song by the same name, was so successful that it reached the status of becoming a multiple platform record, whilst the latter went silver having sold over 200,000 copies.
Also on main stage is multi-instrumentalist crooner Youngr, as well as Rhythm Masters, Felon, Apexape and Shapes. Space Ibiza goes on tour with residents like Jason Bye and Prok & Fitch controlling the Grandstand Stage, whilst Café Mambo Ibiza, Source and Connected will be running other musical offerings, with Ridney, Of Empires and Jesse James in attendance. For all this and more, tickets start at only £25.
