Jamie Jones, Chase & Status, Steve Lawler, Bicep, Joy Orbison, My Nu Leng, Armand Van Helden and many more to feature at Parklife after parties.
Manchester’s Parklife Festival is fast approaching its return to Heaton Park on June 11th for two days of music, brought to you by some of the worlds most prolific party outfits and artists. After the sun sets on the festival, it’s a well known fact that Manchester has plenty more to offer through its Afterlife parties. Afterlife takes the energy from Heaton Park to a number of venues dotted around Manchester, and judging by this year’s lineup, the party will spill well into the early hours across Manchester. The line-ups for this year’s Parklife Afterlife parties have just been announced, with an overwhelming amount of talent taking to the city centre to carry on the fun.
The first of the bunch is down at Gorilla, where Metropolis will raise the roof through bringing garage kingpins Preditah and P Money to play. Hidden opens up for Lo-Fi where a very special guest will headline alongside B.Traits, Greg Lord and more, whilst more bass heavy sounds come to APE at the Albert Hall. Here, festival headliners Chase & Status guest star with fellow D&B aficionados Friction, Dimension and Culture Shock in support. More garage sounds will be on offer at Antwerp Mansion come courtesy of Rum & Bass, with Zed Bias and Logan Sama heading up a hefty line up and another one of Parklife’s main players in Seth Troxler plays for Zutekh at Soup Kitchen. Boogies Nights at Joshua Brooks makes for an interesting Afterlife first as Disco Stu drops the funk there before another all star bill heads to Sankeys to represent Yousef’s Circus, who host the Big Top at the main festival through the day. Playing here will be Steve Lawler, Yousef, Lewis Boardman, Oliver Dollar and Lauren Lo Sung.
On the Sunday, if you’re still live and kicking, there will be a massive nine after parties booting off all over Manchester, with the most secretive of the bunch coming to The Ritz once again. This party curated by The Warehouse Project appeared last year and is returning with a very special house and techno line up that will stay under wraps until the show. Meanwhile, at Gorilla, Sanction will be hosting Amine Edge & DANCE whilst HiddenEvents bring Joy Orbison and Paul Woolford to their own home. After playing on his own Paradise stage through the day, Jamie Jones will be joined by Eats Everything, Solardo and a very special guest for a Kaluki special at The Albert Hall. There’s action over at The Antwerp Mansion, which is where the drum and bass heads will be able to dance the night away with Wookie, Oldboy and the R&B residents playing through the night. Elsewhere, Bicep are hosted by Zutekh at Soup Kitchen, Drop The Mustard take over Sankeys with a huge line up featuring Armand Van Helden, Patrick Topping and Jasper James and finally Sound Control will bring a flurry of bass thanks to APE and Metropolis, who appear at their second Afterlife of the weekend. This shake down welcomes My Nu Leng, Oneman, Special Request, Monki, Dub Phizix and much more.
If the 11pm finish at Parklife doesn’t sound like your kind of bedtime, then there is a vast array of music on offer at the city’s best nightclubs to ensure you get your fix of the dancefloor. With tickets starting at under £10, it would be rude not to.
