The HiFi Club in Leeds has been providing the very best in worldwide funk, hip-hop, disco, soul and more every Friday since 1998 through the resident club night Funk Soul Nation. Having had guests such as Romare, Onra and Qool Marv grace the basement just off Boar Lane, it is one of the best places to get a proper party started on a Friday night.
On Friday 20th November, Funk Soul Nation will be welcoming one of the pinnacle collectives from the London disco scene in Horse Meat Disco. Beginning the party over 6 years ago, it is dedicated to the nights of long lost clubbing that could be had at places like The Paradise Garage, The Loft and The Gallery in New York, with the London reimagination having become a favourite party for many.
Brainchilds James Hillard and Jim Stanton, together with DJs Severino and Filthy Luka, have pioneered Horse Meat Disco into becoming a disco haven for any persuasion of discerning clubber to dance at, with the ethos sticking to providing a “queer space for everyone”, recognising that the majority of the best clubs in the whole history of clubs have been those that welcome people from all walks of life.
The quartet of DJs that is Horse Meat Disco will be bringing their unique flair and underground vibe to the stage at HiFi club on 20th November, so get your disco boots on and prepare for a real treat influenced by all that is great and good from the history of the worlds most renowned dance clubs.
