Next month Butter Side Up follow up their 2nd Birthday Bonanza by bringing one of the freshest, most excitement young producer/DJs on the circuit at the moment, none other than the fresh faced Gerry Read. At just 20 years old Gerry is producing music way beyond his years, and it’s pretty hard to believe that such thought provoking, intelligent and contemporary music could come from such a young producer.
His past productions have seen him release on well established labels such as Ramp Recordings, Delsin and Fourth Wave but it is his new material everyone is really excited about with a brand new album, entitled ‘Jummy’ set for release on 19th November on Fourth Wave records. Check out one of the tracks from the album, ‘Let’s Make It Deeper’ on the Fourth Wave Soundcloud page – LISTEN HERE.
Gerry’s sound encompasses a wide range of influences, made even more so impressive again by his youth and expected inexperience. Somehow in his 20 years on planet Earth he has managed to take in sounds from acid house, disco, Detroit and Chicago analogues, jazz and soul and develop a unique blend that is going to sound amazing on the mighty Funktion One of Wire, Leeds. This booking brings in another Leeds debut for the BSU guys and with support from residents Hamish Cole, Hugh Bailey, Jonny Sleight and Ciaran Hansen all is set for another belter. Advance tickets are strongly advised – BUY TICKETS.
