When you think Spanish-speaking islands famous for their long nights of electronic music and lively party atmosphere, I could probably guess what your first thought is. Well, hold your horses for one second, because a young group of individuals from Gibraltar have been making waves in their home country, and on Wednesday the 12th of November they will be bringing their party over to Leeds for their second appearance, this time round inviting two guests who are well known amongst the cities underground music fans.
Over in Gibraltar, Cliché have become one of the most respected nights on their home turf, with past guests ranging from young up and coming talent like Samuel W to already established artists such as Purp & Soul’s Ben Pearce. Formerly taking place at Ocean Village, before moving to Boyd’s, they have developed a loyal crowd who are spreading the love around the island, causing other nights to surface and carry on what Cliché have fought to get off the ground.
The Leeds edition will be taking place at the much loved, subterranean cavern that is Wire, and to help us celebrate music will be brought to the table by local talent in the form of Jey Kurmis and Paul Kaminski. Jay has been turning heads in a big way recently, especially since the release of his 4 track EP ‘Lil’ Nic French’ on Hot Creations. The title track has been huge this year, with everyone from Groove Armada to Anja Schneider featuring it in their sets.
