Wolf Alice, Julio Bashmore, Andy C are amongst the names set to descend on the Welsh surf festival.
Glass Butter Beach is the festival that was spawned from a love of great music, action packed sport and the beach lifestyle that many only get to enjoy once or maybe twice a year. At Glass Butter Beach, the three are combined during a weekend that brings together music lovers, athletes and a beautiful location to create one of the most unique festivals in Britain.
From the 19th to the 21st of August, Glass Butter Beach will take over Abersoch in North Wales, a coastline village that is one of the most beautiful in the country. Throughout the weekend you can enjoy an eclectic music line up, exciting sports competitions and also non-competitive activities that will hopefully bring out the sportsmanship in you.
The music line up is spread over the expanse of five stages, featuring individual music policies that range from open-air band performances to intimate DJ sets. The main stage will be where you can see headline performances in front of a mountain backdrop and aside crystal clear waters. Main stage performances this year will come from Wolf Alice, Mystery Jets, Katy B, Kodaline, The Cuban Brothers, Coasts and Jamie Lawson amongst others.
Elsewhere on the festival site, you can see electronic music from DJs of the ilk of Patrick Topping, Andy C and Julio Bashmore at The Backdoor and soulful sounds of the ilk of Youth Club, Louis Berry and Rocky NTI at Lee Knowles’ Surf Shack. Finally, you can hear reggae, dub and hip-hop on the Hidden Roots Stage, this includes General Levy and Aries, and aptly, rock on The Rock.
Aside from the diverse music policy, Glass Butter Beach will be hosting the Wakeboarding Quadra Crown; a much coveted wakeboarding competition that sees the winner awarded a £10,000 prize. Those who aren’t quite at a competing level will be able to enjoy wakeboarding on other parts of the beach, along with the option of surfing and skating.
