This week we caught up with Jungle Jam promoter and resident DJ (one half of Northern Scum) Tom Buxey and talked; moving to Mint Warehouse, summer plans, which DJs he'd have home to his mum's for Sunday dinner and more.

Since moving away from Mint Club to Mint Warehouse, the brand seems to have really flourished. How are you finding your current stint in the warehouse?
Really good. We couldn't have asked for more to be honest. Recent events have been some of the best parties we've ever had. The soundsystem there is immense, 146k full Funktion One and the surroundings are perfect for a jungle rave.
You seem to have an incredible fan base (the picture below says it all really), how important is it to have a crowd of people as nuts as the Jungle Jam following turning out and going for it month in month?
It's the reason we put on parties. Without them it wouldn't be anything. As long as we can get people being that passionate about the music we will continue!
The 8th birthday was quite the night by all accounts, how did it match up to previous years?
It was a pretty magical night. Over 1300 junglists all there to celebrate 8 years of Jungle Jam and witness over 30 artists spanning all 20 years of Jungle including those who are constantly pushing the scene forward today. We really couldn't have asked for anything more. It was definitely the best birthday yet, the challenge now is to top it again next year!
You have had some incredible guests over the years. If you had to pick one to party with, who would it be and if you had to pick one to take to Sunday dinner with your mum who would it be?
Very good question, especially the second part! To party with has to be Goldie. I don't think he does as much as he used to but the man's such a personality and would provide you with entertainment and stories all night long. For Sunday dinner I'd take Serial Killaz and Aries. They're such sound guys.
What does summer and the rest of the year hold for the Jungle Jam crew?
An Outlook Boat Party followed by the Jungle Jam Soundclash stage on the Sunday, a stage at Chronos Festival in Bristol and then a stage with Detonate at Mint Festival. We're also working on some big plans to bring together the worldwide jungle community and of course plan our events for the next season.
If you had to describe Jungle Jam in 3 words, what would they be?
Jungle, Bass, Vibes
