Ahead of his ucpoming set at Chibuku (Liverpool) alongsid Duke Dumont, Oneman, Psychemagik and more we caught up with one of the stars of the bulging UK underground scene, T.Williams. A graduate of the 2013 Red Bull Music Academy, London's T.Williams sprung onto the UK house scene back in 2010 with productions on the Local Action imprint before being nominated as Best Breakthrough DJ by DJ Mag the following year.
Having held residencies on Radio 1 and Rinse FM, T.Williams has become one of the go to tastemakers in the country as well as one of the most in demand DJs. We talked summer, his US tour, influences and more ahead of his appearance in Liverpool next month.
Hi T. How’s your summer been?
The summer has been really good. Between festivals, studio and Ibiza I've been keeping busy.
You’ve had a busy past few months with a lot of festival action as well as club performances. Have there been any standout club gigs you have played this year so far?
One of the most stand out gigs was my first show in Moscow. Really enjoyed playing to a new crowd I had loads of fun.
And which festival was your favourite?
Bestival has to of been my favourite festival this year. Got to enjoy the festival and party too. Always a massive bonus.
During September you are embarking on your US tour. Have you been to America much before?
Yes, I've been to America a few times over the past 18 months. First off as a RBMA participant then touring with Mosca for 3 weeks then joining Disclosure on their bus tour. I also managed to play HolyShip this year. Which was amazing.
Are there many American DJs who have influenced what you make and play today?
Not so much DJ's but quite a few producers. I usually draw most of my influences from artist I grew up listening to from the UK.
Are you especially excited to play in any particular club that you have a date at during your US tour?
Really looking forward to playing alongside Midland at Output in NYC and also Sandiego at Bang Bang!
Whilst you’re in America, I’m sure you will be able to fit in some much needed R&R. Is there anything you would like to see or anywhere you’d love to visit?
I'm going to attempt to pay Disney land a visit when I'm in LA. Have been to America a few times now so I think its about time.
After you return you have a date at Chibuku in Liverpool on October 4th with a number of others. After your last gig there back in November last year, are you eager to return?
Super eager to return to Chibuku it’s always so much fun and the crowd is always amazing.

And finally, is there anything taking place over the coming months that you’re excited about? Whether it is with your production, gigging or radio shows.
Just working on fresh material which I am really excited for everyone to hear over the coming months. Some which are collaborations and some just on my own. Can't wait to get them out there.
