Ahead of the MTA Records showcase this Friday (19th April) at the recently refurbished East Village Arts Club (Formerly The Masque) we caught up with the KillSonik duo, Luca Gulotta and Joe Erskine, for a quick Q&A.
Where are you right now?
In the studio.
Where has your tour schedule been taking you recently? What gigs are sticking in your memory?
We've been everywhere the last 6 months, from America to all over Europe. But i guess lately the home gigs with Chase and Status have been the highlights.
Beyond the music your fans hear you producing and playing in your sets, what do your musical tastes include?
We like metal, old and new. Rock, electro... but we'll listen to anything if it's a good track and we like it.
Summer festivals... Which one's are you most looking forward to playing and will either of you be attending any as punters this year?
Really looking forward to playing at Kubana 13 in Russia also Creamfields after it was cancelled last year while we were on train on the way up to play. As punters? Who knows, might end up at Secret Garden Party or Glastonbury.
You've recently tweeted an interesting tweet about the new daft punk track Get Lucky. What are your opinions on what we've heard from (and about) the album so far?
Lol, I'm sure it'll do very well.
Do you have any productions or remixes in the pipelines you can tell us about?
Currently working on our album but it's all a big secret at the moment.
This Saturday, you play for MTA Records at the newly refurbished East Village Arts Club, Liverpool. Since signing to the label two years ago, how has your relationship with the label affected your career?
It's been great. Such an advantage having Chase and Status there to give you advice and push you in the right direction.
Finally if you each had to describe each other in 3 words, what would they be?
Luca on Joe: selfless, caring, nice.
Joe on Luca: selfish, arrogant, ****.
