John Dahlbäck is further testament to the theory that when it comes to overly talented musical homelands, there could indeed be something in Sweden’s water.

There has been much anticipation in the wait to find out who Bitch’s special guest was and it’s safe to say expectations were exceeded! Are you looking forward to coming back to the UK for Mint Festival?

I am! UK has always been a strong and fun territory for me so I'm really excited!

You’ve been touring extensively in the USA this month, just how crazy is the EDM explosion over there right now?

It’s massive. I’ve been going for a couple of years now and seeing the increase with ticket sales and reactions mean a lot to me.

What towns, cities or countries are getting a thumbs up from John Dahlback right now?

New York, Mansion, Vegas are all amazing cities to play in. Countries like UK, Belgium and Holland are really important to me.

Is there anyone else on the Mint Festival lineup that you will be checking out?

Hopefully I have time to check out Michael Woods!

After a year rammed full of international dates you must pick up so many different influences from around the world. What is the John Dahlback sound right now? Who’s releasing the biggest tracks for you this year?

I love to blend genres and try to cover as much as possible. Tommy trash has been on it this year. Also this guy Tujamo from Germany is amazing.

How has the year been for Mutants Records – what is the vibe there and how does it differ to Pickadoll?

It’s basically the same thing but new name. I keep signing things that stand out and are original and many demos I get are really good actually!

As the Ibiza summer season comes to an end, what have been your highlights? You were a part of the opening celebrations at Privilege alongside Markus Schulz and also made a couple of appearances at Space, how did they go?

Ibiza has been good to me this year! I haven't been a lot due to other tours but the gigs have been great on the island.

As a hugely experienced DJ both in clubs and at festivals, how do you approach a festival set differently?

It’s difficult because you would need to fit the good tracks you normally play in a shorter set. So I'm doing a lot of edits of my own tracks.

Bitch Events have had a huge year in 2012, you’ve not played for them before, what have you heard about them and the crowd they attract?

I have heard they know how to throw a party so  I'm really looking forward to it!

What’s your top tip for the Mint Festival masses on surviving an outdoor event?

I don't know? Boots and a good mood?

As a DJ, what do you always have in your bag for festival gigs?

A few secret tunes that always work. Could be edits

Finally, a message for those that are looking forward to your set in the Bitch arena at Mint Festival?

Be ready for some serious action!
