Indie rock sensation Jake Bugg will take to Sheffield’s O2 Academy on 25th of October, with a show that’s certain to bring in a sellout crowd. Arguably one of the biggest singer-songwriters in the country at the moment, Bugg won best solo artist at the NME Awards in 2015, and has earned himself two platinum discs and another gold since bursting onto the scene back in 2012.
Influenced heavily by a broad range of folk and rock artists, Bugg draws on inspiration from the likes of Don McLean, The Beatles, Johnny Cash and Jimi Hendrix, merging warm guitar melodies with his distinctive vocals. Flitting between folk melancholia and rock n roll swagger, Bugg has proven himself both a talented composer and an assured performer. Backed now by three LPs’ worth of songs, Bugg is reaping the rewards of a prolific few years, and seeing as his latest album, On My One, was released just last month, he’ll have plenty of new material to call on for this latest addition to his schedule.
Armed with his hits like Two Fingers and Lightning Bolt as well as his latest tunes, Jake Bugg will be warmly welcomed in Sheffield at the end of October.
