To celebrate the release of his first ever studio album, Jamie xx will be playing at The Albert Hall, Manchester as part of his ‘In Colour’ tour that will be taking place throughout October.
First rising to prominence through his masterful remix album that was released back in 2011, Jamie xx has become one of the most in demand names once again after releasing the details of his brand new album that moves away from his usual MO of remixing the work of others, to provide 11 original tracks by the man himself.
Jamie’s seminal remix of Gil Scott Heron’s ‘NY Is Killing Me’ was the first attention grabbing piece of music that Jamie xx released himself, following work as one half of the Platinum selling indie band The xx, who released their eponymous debut album in 2011 to worldwide critical acclaim.
This second LP, which features the likes of Romy Madley Croft, Oliver Sim, Popcaan and Young Thug, begins with a bass heavy, jungle tinged beatscape that builds serious tension, and as this is the only track that has been heard from the album as of yet, the tension is still mounted high.
The ‘In Colour’ tour will kick off on the 21st of July in Denver, USA before making his way round the states, which will be followed by the UK leg of the tour that will stop in Manchester on October the 16th.
‘In Colour’ will hit the shelves on June the 1st with tickets for The Albert Hall Manchester show on sale from Friday 1st May 10am. Check out the brand new video for 'Gosh' taken from the forthcoming album below now.
