Julia Govor premieres new track on XLR8R

Andrew Kemp | Latest News

XLR8R has unveiled a new track by New York based producer Julia Govor, which you can now listen to below. Titled “Mathew I Got Your Shakers”, the minimal techno journey comes with the label of Budapest’s Akkult, an imprint run by Andras Toth, and will be accompanied by another original track from the Russian producer as well as a remix from Toth on the flip.

Perfectly capturing the sound sought for the still infant label, “Mathew I Got Your Shakers” builds on rattling percussion and mysterious vocal simulacrums to make a track that has you trapped in a well timed loop. Described as “shamanistic house music”, the 5000 Moments EP from which it is drawn fits perfectly with the Akkord bill by leading a trippy excursion through strong magnetic fields.

Govor plays in London on Saturday 18th March as a guest of Melt Festival at Printworks. Kicking off at midday and running until ten at night, the day party will feature Chris Liebing, Ellen Allien, Mind Against and Recondite alongside Govor in room 1, with the likes of Tommy Four Seven and Indigo Kennedy in room 2. Things will get deep, dark and trippy.
