Lowther Deer Park in the idyllic Lake District will once again be hosting Kendal Calling for 2015, which will be taking place from the 30th of July to the 2nd of August. After last year, which saw performances from the likes of Frank Turner, Suede and The Happy Mondays, there will be another forward thinking music programme this year, compromising of a vast selection of creative artists and groups from the world of live music.
For 2015 Kendal Calling will be welcoming hip-hop extraordinaire Snoop Dogg, as well as one of Britain’s best contemporary bands, Elbow. The Vaccines will also join them alongside Leeds rockers The Kaiser Chiefs, who have just announced their US tour, which will be taking place throughout the spring and summer. Aside from the main three days of the festival, James will also be welcomes as guest headliners for Thursday. Across the rest of the weekend you will be able to see performances from Kodaline, The Horrors, Levellers, Ella Eyre, Nick Mulvey, Soul II Soul, Mr. Scruff, British Sea Power, Fuse ODG, Embrace and Billy Bragg, with many more bands and solo artists playing on the many stages that will be making up the festival site in the beautiful location that Kendal Calling resides in.
Still to be unveiled are the line ups for the Glow Dance Tent as well as announcements for Chai Wallah, Tim Peaks and much more, some very interesting areas of this unique festival. Aside from the music there are a host of other activities to get involved in, including the Real Ale Festival, fancy dress tents, roaming performers and a heap of on site art installations. For when you need to sate your appetite there is a vast selection of boutique stalls that will offer everything from juicy steaks to bags of sweeties, as Kendal Calling offers one of the most extensive food & drink programmes in the UK. There are multiple camping options for whether you’re up for getting down and dirty or not, as well as other activities for the young ones.
