After a season of great parties in the Scottish capital, Nightvision prepare to enter the summer with a closing party featuring one of house music’s fondest characters, Kerri Chandler, who will be joined by Dusky and Gareth Summerville.
Nightvision started in Edinburgh last year through the joining of MUSIKA and Xplicit, two of the cities most prominent club brands, who announced the first season of events to be taking place at some of the capitals most loves music venues, with The Liquid Rooms, La Belle Angele and Cabaret Voltaire all playing their part.
After the first season kicked off in September, which welcomed the likes of Nina Kraviz, Jackmaster, Gorgon City, Chase & Status, Hot Since 82, Bondax and Heidi, it was clear Nightvision had won a place in the hearts of Edinburgh’s dance music fans. Dotted with special appearances that included a rare Noisia appearance for Xplicit’s 10th birthday and a back to back between Eats Everything and Green Velvet, season 2 brought even more musical treats, not to mention performances from Ten Walls, Patrick Topping, Shy FX, and more, who took to the same venues that have kept Edinburgh a hotspot for underground music.
To mark the end of the second series, Nightvision will be playing host to Kerri Chandler, one of the greatest and most influential names in the world of deep house. Growing up in New Jersey, Kerri grew up in a family with strong musical ties, leading to the beginning of his DJ career at age 13, when he would play alongside his father at The Rally Racquet Club in his hometown. Known for seminal house music tracks such as Atmosphere and You’re In My System, Kerri is a proper DJ who has been known to integrate some incredible tricks into his performances. Cutting up 2 records and even mixing with his shoes, Kerri is a master of the craft and will bring some true style to The Liquid Room on Sunday the 24th of May.
Also on the line up is the new school house duo Dusky, who have enjoyed huge success with their recent singles that have been released on Aus, Dogmatik and Anjunadeep amongst others. Gareth Somerville completes the guest billing, an American DJ who started out playing hip-hop, funk and house in the 1980’s at The Kangaroo Club, however since then he has become a resident of two of the most exciting institutions in Edinburgh, Citrus Club and Tattoo.
