Young grime emcee AJ Tracey drops new single ‘Blacked Out’, teasing fans with what’s to come from his widely anticipated EP. The 23 year old is relatively new to the scene, putting out The Front EP only two years ago. The five track project was met by unprecedented praise, securing Tracey a spot among grime greats. ‘Blacked Out’ has only made more space for the rapper, proving his rightful place on festival bills with its dub style beats combined with the coldest of flows of wordplay lyrics. His Secure The Bag EP is set for release on October 6th, and was announced alongside the surprise single, giving grime fanatics something to twiddle their thumbs to until that date.
Spitting bars of, “so many shows that a man can’t sleep”, AJ Tracey has a point, as he’s announced an extensive list of live dates this year. He’ll be hitting Lockdown Festival, a weekend dedicated to grime taking place at Powderham Castle in Exeter, from Friday 1st September until Sunday 3rd, before Bestival, which takes place at Lulworth Castle between Thursday 7th and Monday 11th September. Outlook Festival takes place on the same weekend in Croatia, and will also feature AJ Tracey. He’ll also be headlining his own shows at Motion in Bristol on Wednesday 25th October and Brighton's Concorde 2 on Tuesday October 31st.
