Arcadia have announced a meaty lineup for their May Day bank holiday weekend in London, with Sven Vath, Eats Everything, Rudimental and a wealth of other talent joining the bill. Famed for its impressive Spider structure, an increasingly iconic symbol after travelling across the world to appear at some of the top festivals last year, Arcadia will liven up the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th of May.
Lovingly known as Papa Sven, Sven Vath is considered a “godfather of techno” after decades of frontline partying, and there’s no doubting his presence on the lineup will be a source of great excitement for his fellow artists. Joined by Eats Everything, Groove Armada and Dusky as well as Boys Noize and a magnificent live set from Leftfield, Sven will be part of a truly memorable party on Saturday 5th May.
Moving onto the Sunday and it’s Rudimental who take the top spot, with Noisia, TQD, Preditah and Bassboy adding a whole lot more high-octane dance music to the affair. Also featuring hip-hop by way of Mixpak, Dre Skull and Jubilee, the second day had already been designated as time for a RAM Records showcase, with the drum and bass legends adding their own personalities to the high-end production.
With music covered, you might think that that’s all you need to know about Arcadia’s weekend plans - but you’d be wrong. Arguably the highlight of both parties, an incredible Metamorphosis show will constitute Arcadia’s biggest ever production, with theatre, circus and the globally renowned audio-visual spectacle. Rumours of a second 360 degree immersive venue to accompany the 50 tonne spider have also been confirmed, with more details of the structure forthcoming.
