Sometimes you hear a track in a club that just can’t stay unknown; you run up to the DJ, appealing desperately for an ID, but none is forthcoming. “Unreleased, mate”, they tell you. “Might never come out.” Eventually, word does get out: you might get an artist or even a track name, but there’s still no release. Months pass, you push it to the back of your mind, you move on with your life. You think you’re over it. Then, out of nowhere, it drops, and chaos ensues. Artwork’s “Let Go Of This Acid” is one such example.
A party weapon on the circuit for the last year and a half, the storming ‘not so secret weapon’ has been in high-demand, but it is only now that Artwork has decided to release it officially, with the track launching new label Unfinished Records on Friday 20th October. Joined by the similarly mind-bending “Acid Lines”, the physical release has already sold out way ahead of time, but you can still listen to the outrageous lead track below.
Artwork is taking his Art’s House series of parties up and down the country this autumn, with shows at Southampton’s Junk and Electric Brixton in October and Leeds’ Wire in early November. He will also appear at the Jackmaster and Numbers presents Mastermix episode of The Warehouse Project, where he’ll join with Glesga favourite Denis Sulta in a tasty back to back set in December.
