Metropolis are bringing Bugzy Malone to Leeds’ huge Canal Mills venue this April, and joining will be an all star cast of the best representatives of DnB, grime, bassline and more. Logan Sama holds the title for being the know-it-all DJ when it comes to grime, and so his set promises a versatile mix of the freshest and the dopest from the genre. Hailing from Nottingham, Mr Virgo has remixed tracks from the likes of JME, Skepta and Giggs. Going B2B on this celebration of the once-underground sound, garage and DnB connoisseur Mollie Collins and Manchester bass dweller North Base. With renowned Leeds’ party starters Sticky Feet also taking to the stage, this night promises a dance-able affair to say the least.
Not forgetting the headline act - grime has always been very much a genre that was born, bred and stayed native to the UK’s beloved capital city, but Manchester emcee Bugzy Malone is one of the few representative talents from the North. Knowing this, the 0161 rapper named his latest full length release King of The North and having also featured on albums by the likes of Tinie Tempah, Charlie Sloth and Chase & Status, as well as claimed festival appearances and shut down shows, it seems to be a pretty accurate description.
