A trio of shows in March and April will see Coded Rhythm return to Gorilla to assert themselves as promoters to watch in Manchester, with big name guests playing the jukebox at the three exciting nights. Starting with Dense & Pika on Friday 3rd March, the series of events will continue on Saturday 18th March and Friday 7th April with Oneman and Special Request respectively.
London producers Dense & Pika have made a name for themselves with big, loud, thumping techno, and releases on Adam Beyer’s Drumcode have given them plenty of extra exposure as they’ve rapidly ascended the dance music ladder over the last few years. Fearless in laying down pounding kick drums, crashing percussion and destructive bass lines, the duo have released a compilation album on Scuba’s Hotflush and set up their own self titled label.
Oneman is another character needing little introduction, as he has been one of the UK’s favourite party DJs for many years now. Famed for his quick mixing, anthemic selections and flawless technique, he’s in a similar field as garage-specialist DJ EZ, and is one of those DJs who you know will always be up for a party. Leaning more towards booming techno than party bangers, Paul Woolford aka Special Request will no doubt follow a similar path to Dense & Pika when he plays on Friday 7th April, treating Manchester to the big techno sounds that he’s been making for decades but with the addition of a good bit of pirate radio-style rave.
