Lots of brands in dance music get bigged up a lot, but one that deserves all the credit it gets is Amsterdam’s Dekmantel, an influential label and event company responsible for some of the most memorable party moments in techno and house over the last few years. Led by Thomas Martojo and Casper Tielrooij, also known by their alias Dekmantel System, the collective have released killer records by the likes of Palms Trax, Fatima Yamaha, Basic Soul Unit, Robert Hood and Esa, run parties across the world and started one of Europe’s most successful small festivals. Now booked in for an all night set at Mick’s Garage, the mastermind duo will be reminding London just why the rest of the world has been paying attention.
Long before the festival came into being, Dekmantel Soundsystem were becoming well known for their extended back to back sets, which brought together sounds new and old along with some seriously bumping parties. Blessed with the gift of being able to start a party and keep it going until each and every guest has had their fill, Martoko and Tielrooij offer musical awakenings on the dancefloor, encouraging the warmest of vibes and fully-committed crowds willing to leave it all on the dancefloor. Dealing out obscure digs, cutting edge releases and the gems from Dekmantel’s near decade as a label, Dekmantel Soundsystem will be taking the London crowd to the point of weak knees and hazy heads on Saturday 9th December.
