Lorna Gray | Latest News

It’s not only a brand new year, but a brand new decade and it looks like 2020 is shaping up to be a good’un with so many huge festivals not only celebrating some of the best acts on offer, but also celebrating many years of delivering music to the masses. Although these selected festivals are always an absolute incredible experience, there’s going to be something extra special about their next chapter, as many of them hit milestone anniversaries in 2020. Check out our list of the top festivals celebrating fun anniversaries in 2020…

Forbidden Forest
Sat 9 May

This May they’ll be celebrating Five Years of The Forest and they’ll be doing so in style with an extensive lineup across multiple stages. With stage hosts including Defected, ABODE, CruCast, DnB All Stars and more, you can expect a mega list of acts, and that’s exactly what Forbidden Forest are delivering. Covering house sounds, the likes of MK, Sam Divine, Darius Syrossian, and more take on stages while bass driven sounds will come from Skepsis, Hybrid Minds, Shy FX, Goldie and more. If you go down to the woods this May, you’re sure of a good time.

Primavera Sound Barcelona
Thu 4 - Sat 6 Jun

Barcelona’s premier music festival Primavera will be celebrating its 20th year in 2020, and only a gargantuan lineup will do for the extensive event. Hosting a versatile list of acts across sixteen stages, featuring on this year’s bill are Californican indie icons Pavement who will reform exclusively for the festival, delving into their back catalogue for fans. Joining them is shoegaze legend Kim Gordan, as well as riot grrl pioneers Bikini Kill following their widely anticipated 2019 reform. Also billed, Lana Del Rey, Tyler, The Creator, The Strokes, Kacey Musgraves, Massive Attack, The National, Earl Sweatshirt and more. Safe to say Primavera are recognising two spectacular decades in style.

Hideout Festival

An entire decade since the very first edition and what a way Hideout Festival has come! Situated in the beautiful beach resort of Zcre, on the Island of Pag in Croatia, Hideout has consistently dropped  lineups which feature the best of the best across house, tech house, drum and bass, and beyond. This year they’re inviting Andy C, Hannah Wants, Patrick Topping, Skream, MK, Kings Of The Rollers, Mall Grab, Solardo, Camelphat, Sam Divine and so many more in demand acts. It’s going to be a tough one to top but Hideout have a way of doing so year after year.

EXIT Festival
Thu 9 - Sun 12 Jul

Taking a mighty two decades in its stride and winning multiple awards along the way, Serbia’s EXIT Festival isn’t holding back for their 20th chapter. Hosting dance music legend David Guetta, as well as rap star Tyga, amongst the likes of James Arthur, Fatboy Slim, Bury Tomorrow and more. As well as eclectic genres and styles there’s also the stunning location of Serbia’s capital to soak in.

Glastonbury
Wed 24 - Sun 28 Jun

Of course, it goes without saying that the biggest musical event of the year in the UK cannot be missed off this list, as this year’s edition of Glastonbury celebrates an impressive 50 years since it’s more humble beginnings on Worthy Farm. Only a few acts have been announced for this mammoth iconic event so far, with headliners including pop sensation Taylor Swift and former Beatle turned rockstar in his own right, the iconic Paul Mcartney. Taking on the famous Sunday legends’ slot, the Supremes survivor and disco diva Diana Ross will be delivering the hits. With the full lineup yet to be revealed, Glasto is always a real good time.
