Guy Gerber and Leon Vynehall will join Jamie Jones as hosts of the next SIDEXSIDE at Tobacco Dock, in what looks to be one of the best day parties that London will see this year. Taking place from midday until 10:30pm on Sunday 16th April, the unique format that SIDEXSIDE pushes will see each of the three take command of a room and play a series of b2b sets with a succession of top quality partners.
Aimed at empowering selectors with a more open way of playing, SIDEXSIDE gives its hosts a full day behind the decks, allowing them plenty of time to explore the less travelled areas of their record collections. Paired up with different peers across the programme, the hosts will be challenged to dip and dive across genre boundaries and styles, meaning they’ll get plenty of opportunity to show off their eclectic tastes. With Guy Gerber at the helm you can expect plenty of movement in the Car Park, with house and techno winding together to create a journey through euphoric sounds and mesmeric melodies. The Little Garage may well be a more multifarious scene, with Leon Vynehall’s broad-ranging tastes certain to see everything from techno to disco by way of funk and soul getting put through the powerful sound system.
With the guests still to be announced, the hosts themselves are enough to create quite a buzz, and particularly as the event will be a Tobacco Dock debut for Hot Creations boss Jamie Jones. The Great Gallery host is one of the biggest names in tech house, and few underground DJs are followed by greater swathes of fans than the charismatic Welshman. A man with plenty of famous friends to draw from for his b2b sets, we’ll just have to wait and see who gets the final nod when he chooses his team for SIDEXSIDE.
