When launching a new festival you want to make a big impression, and inner city electronic will certainly manage that on Saturday 2nd June. Having already confirmed a huge cast of Floating Points, KiNK, Dopplereffekt, Avalon Emerson and more, the multi-venue event has now added Helena Hauff, Objekt, Detroit Swindle and Leon Vynehall to what looks like a killer day of music in Leeds.
If you’re looking for an in-form selector, few fit the description better than Helena Hauff. A resident at the idiosyncratic Golden Pudel turned international superstar, Hauff brings a furious energy that few can match, with EBM, electro and breakbeat tunes forming the backbone of her sets. A similarly high intensity is also part and parcel of an Objekt performance, with his broken up UK bass drawing together elements of dubstep, techno, jungle and more. A technically astonishing DJ, his mechanical sounds are tools of destruction in a dark club, his playful side shown by the anthemic synthline of “Theme From Q”.
House specialists Detroit Swindle will add their usual brand of dancefloor bangers into the mix, whilst Leon Vynehall will show off a breadth of taste that could see him drawing for disco, house, techno or a diverse stock of other sounds. With Central Processing Unit, Flux and Death On The Balcony also added, inner city electronic is shaping up to be very memorable indeed.
