Founded in Detroit in the late 80s, Insane Clown Posse combine old school hip hop bars with hardcore guitars and gothic clown style face paint, their unique cartoonish style becoming their own genre of ‘horrorcore’. With almost three decades behind them, ICP are made up of Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope, who have both continued to pursue the genre, pushing boundaries and creating a new space for rap rock as it’s known today. The duo have a reputation for their live show antics and manage to create an experience as eccentric as their sound with the inclusion of flames, chainsaws and even dousing their fans in soda - which isn’t an issue for their cult following who have named themselves ‘Juggalos’. Insane Clown Posse head to O2 Academy Leeds on Monday 13th November, with support from fellow nu metal band Mushroomhead and UK metalcore band Death Blooms.
