The world and his dog are J Hus fans by now, and Stormzy paid tribute with a line in his wicked new freestyle “4pm in London”. Dropping the track on Sunday 1st of October, the grime star saw it rack up over a million views within a week as the masses flocked once again to see him lay down some of the most unruly bars of the year.
Taking on an edit of Drake’s “4pm in Calablasas”, Stormzy was in no mood to mess around as he whipped out diss lines and bruising rhymes including the ruthless “These funny little rappers and their funny little disses, you don’t make more money than my Mrs”. Always keen to big up his allies though, the man from Thornton Heath celebrated J Hus with the line “I like my watches with no h’ice”, adding extra weight to the widespread sentiment that J Hus is one of the most respected players in the grime game at the moment.
You can pay your own respects to J Hus at his gigs in Leeds and Liverpool later this month, or catch him at The Warehouse Project in November.
