2017 proved a strong year for Leeds’ Brotherhood, with massive parties featuring the likes of Tama Sumo, Lakuti, Chaos In The CBD and Kon, and it looks like 2018 will prove a similar success story if the January booking of Jayda G and Anu is anything to go by. Heading to Wire on Saturday 27th January, the two charismatic selectors will be joining residents George and Tami for a night of the most interesting tunes from house, disco, funk, soul and beyond.
A busy summer for Canadian producer and DJ Jayda G has made her one of the most recognisable figures to have burst out on the underground dance music scene in the last few years, with an irresistibly fun set for Boiler Room at Dekmantel and a feature in Vogue raising her profile further after a series of excellent releases have been earning plaudits since 2015. Co-founder of Freakout Cult alongside DJ Fett Burger, Jayda’s ear for club gems is put to equally good use on selection and production duties, with her energy behind the decks making her one of the most magnetising personalities you’re likely to see play.
Jayda will also be joined by the wonderful Anu, one of the chief minds behind Rhythm Section’s fantastic set of releases and a DJ with increasing stock following superb mixes for Dimensions and NTS Radio. Familiar with Leeds after leading one of the most enjoyable sets that 212 Bar saw in 2017 as a guest of On Rotation, she’ll be another classy addition to Brotherhood’s admirable family.
