Julia Govor unleashed some ferocious tracks as she took to Boiler Room in Paraguay’s capital Asunción last week. Serving up an hour of rough waters techno and glitchy electro whilst moving ceaselessly from one foot to the other, the energetic Russian handed out a lesson in the darker side of dance music, with a combination of dense, crushing techno storms and freaky minimal numbers propelling her crowd through noisy soundscapes at an exhausting pace. Perhaps reflecting the murky surroundings of the Boiler Room location, Govor took things deep and dark on her first outing for the music streaming channel.
The diminutive DJ will be playing at Printworks on Saturday 18th March as a guest of Melt Festival. The day party will feature Ellen Allien, Chris Liebing, Mind Against and a live set from Recondite, with more artists also appearing across the two rooms at London’s newest large music venue.
