Kolsch, Bicep, Rodhad and more booked for Terminal V

Andrew Kemp | Latest News

April this year saw a new festival shake up the Edinburgh party scene with Terminal V bringing a stellar lineup of house and techno artists to the city, and it’ll be a similar story in 2018 as the festival returns for another day of world class dance music. Taking to Royal Highland Centre on Sunday 1st April, Terminal V Festival 2018 will feature Kolsch, Bicep, Peggy Gou and more.

Danish techno artist Kolsch might be best known for the anthemic piano roller “Der Alte”, but with years of quality releases on Kompakt, he’s far from a one-track wonder. A masterful composer who draws together elements of minimal, deep house, progressive and more, his releases have a discernible warmth to them, each taking the leader on an engrossing journey. Adopting the same approach behind the decks, he’s a captivating DJ, and a worthy headliner alongside Irish purveyors of thumping techno Bicep and the dark, industrial sounds of Rodhad.

Special guests Pan-Pot will add a layer of tech-house to proceedings, with Belgium’s Amelie Lens and Berlin-based Korean Peggy Gou throwing their own talents into the mix. Two of the fastest rising stars of 2017, Lens and Gou take different approaches to music but with similar effect; Lens’ taste for heavier techno and hallucinogenic sounds makes her powerful sets intense experiences, whilst Peggy Gou brings a more eclectic style to the decks. Armed with everything from disco through to writhing acid, Gou’s blend of feel-good afro-inspired rhythms and jacking house has proven universally popular this year, with her exceptional knowledge across a variety of genres allowing her to veer off down whatever paths take her fancy. At home both banging out techno or coaxing together funk and groovy house, she’s a smooth selector, expert technician and as charismatic as they come.

With more names still to be announced, Terminal V is shaping up nicely, with Mall Grab and Artwork the other big artists already confirmed for the trip to Edinburgh.
