Studio Barnhus head honcho Kornel Kovacs will be heading to the UK in early February for a pair of shows in the North, with appearances scheduled for The White Hotel in Manchester and Leeds’ HiFi Club. A master working in the interesting area of overlap between uplifting house and fractured breakbeats, the swedish producer and DJ will guarantee plenty of movement on each dancefloor.
Having set up Studio Barnhus way back in 2010 with compatriots Axel Boman and Petter Nordkvist, Kornel Kovacs has been edging his way to the top of the underground leagues with a succession of excellent short releases and 2016 album The Bells. A skilled DJ with a real sense for playing the right belter at the most opportune of moments, Kovacs has overseen his share of euphoric dancefloor moments, and finds himself hotly tipped by the likes of Mixmag as one of the hottest artists on the scene.
A savvy booking from Manchester’s Ordinary Friends, who will bring a hearty platter of sleazy house, deep disco and Detroit techno to the party, Kornel Kovacs will be a worthy headliner for the excellent White Hotel on Friday 2nd February, and will also have a whale of a time in Leeds, as he joins Middlesbrough’s Shake and Manchester’s Transmission Funk for another colossal party on Saturday 3rd February.
