For the first time in two years, lo-fi indie outfit Kurt Vile and The Violators are to return to UK soil, offering their folk-tinged story telling songs to Leeds’ audience in November. Following a string of album releases on Matador that feature Vile’s unique take on folk, with typical stripped back guitar plucking met with his Tom Petty country style vocals and lo-fi backing from his band The Violators which are all tainted with a slight psychedelic feel, the Philadelphia artist has quite the back catalogue to treat audiences to. His most recent release, 2017’s ‘A Lotta Sea Lice’ - a collaborative project with Aussie singer and songwriter Courtney Barnett - was met with rave reviews and made many “Album Of The Year’ lists, signalling a celebratory US tour for the pair.
Kurt Vile takes to Leeds’ O2 Academy on Sunday 11th November.
